Posted By: How May I Help You NC on November 16, 2018 The Shelton State Community College Foundation hosted West Alabama community leaders and local business and industry partners for the Third Annual Student Investment Luncheon and Auction on Wednesday, November 14 at 11:00 a.m. on Shelton State’s Martin Campus. Fundraising opportunities for the event included individual and corporate sponsorships, a silent auction, and a live auction. At its conclusion on Wednesday, donations totaled more than $140,000. All contributions will benefit Shelton State students through scholarship opportunities. “As I’ve said previously, this luncheon grows exponentially from year to year and continues to exceed our expectations,” said Shannon Chandler, Director of Development. “This year was no different. We are overwhelmed by our community’s generosity and tremendously grateful for every donor and contribution. Our students are fortunate to have this support.” “I am pursuing my dreams,” said Tama Rogers, a culinary arts scholarship student who shared her story with luncheon attendees. “It’s not just about me, it’s about me having the ability to help someone else. My goal when I graduate from my program is to fund a Foundation scholarship myself.” The Shelton State Foundation will host its spring fundraiser, Wine Women and Shoes, on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the Tuscaloosa River Market from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
