Celebrate Black History Month - A Message From U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on February 11, 2022

The U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, send warm wishes for a reflective and joyous Black History Month.

The history of American diplomacy has been led by Black diplomats determined to make a difference. These trailblazers understood that racial diversity should be America's strength not its weakness.

And with so much at stake today around the world, including: COVID-19, climate change, cybersecurity, civil rights and human rights, humanitarian and refugee crises, and competition among global powers.

To take on these challenges, we need the best team possible. We need America’s top minds and top talents, people with diverse skills, perspectives and backgrounds, to help us advance America’s interests on the world stage.

To celebrate Black History month, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield invites you to join the ranks of the U.S. Department of State to advance U.S. diplomacy and foreign policy in the United States and abroad.

Please view her video honoring Black History Month and encouraging the next generation of American diplomats to join our ranks!
