Posted By: S. Moore on April 12, 2023 Date and time Saturday, April 22 · 12 - 2pm CDT Location Talladega College 627 Battle Street West Talladega, AL 35160 United States Meet Coach Aja in your BGDG Gear @ Talladega Activity Center (12pm CST) to begin the tour of the campus! Bring your signs and pom pons! On January 14, 2023, Talladega College announced that they were partnering with Brown Girls Do Gymnastics to assemble the second HBCU Gymnastics team in US history. After 6 consecutive years of the Brown Girls Do Gymnastics conferences, 2 Camps, dozens of celebrity-endorsed campaigns, and a comprehensive advocacy research study from The Doug Williams Center (on the campus of Grambling State University), we know that now is the time for HBCUs to get involved. There are 106 HBCUs, only 2 have intercollegiate Women’s Gymnastics. Our mission is to bring awareness to HBCU fans and alumni that gymnastics is a viable sport in Black & Brown Communities and should be included in HBCUs athletic programs. We are thriving in this sport and yet we must choose between our love for the sport and attending a school that is a part of our history and culture. As you can imagine, there are HBCU leaders all around the country who want to make this happen for our Brown Girls! GET YOUR TICKETS HERE.
