Prairie View A&M University Soars To New Heights, Tapping Top Airline Executive As Spring Commencement Speaker

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on April 26, 2024 Prairie View A&M University will welcome Phil Griffith, global business executive and respected leader in the aviation industry, as the keynote speaker for the University’s 142nd Spring Commencement Convocation on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Mr. Griffith, vice president of United Airline’s Houston hub at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, will address students during PVAMU’s 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. ceremonies. The proud HBCU graduate will deliver a message about the importance of community service, a strong work ethic, and achieving excellence in a competitive global economy. Mr. Griffith, who expertly executed strategic initiatives at the nation’s leading global organizations, including General Electric and Honeywell, ranks as a business powerhouse, especially in the nation’s fourth-largest city. Prairie View A&M University’s 142nd Spring Commencement Convocation will be held on two days, May 10-11, to accommodate the 919 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students who successfully completed their academic programs. PVAMU President Dr. Tomikia P. LeGrande will serve as the commencement speaker for graduate candidates at Friday’s ceremony.
