Why are some guys too scared to approach a gurl without his boys around and when she says she's not interested you talk bad about her?

I always wonder the same thing. I don't know why guys dont approach a girl with their friends around, but I know they are real quick to say something if you don't seem interested. For instance, I was in the mall (in a rush) and this guy was with his friends and he was trying to talk to me. I was like Hi how are you and he was like come here and I was like I can't I'm in a rush and all his boys were like OOOOOH. And of course that made it worse, he started calling me all types of b's and h's. And I'm like I wasn't those names when you tried to talk to me less than 2 seconds ago. So I would say it would have something to do with their pride and them looking stupid in front of their boys.
I'm interested to see what the fellas have to say about this.

Peer pressure. The dude doesn't want to get shot down in front of his boys, for obvious reasons. So he acts like he wasn't really interested in order to save face. Pretty stupid, but that's how it goes.
I don't operate like that, but know dudes who do. First of all, I wouldn't approach someone with my boys all around, because that puts the girl in an uncomfortable situation. Vice-versa, I wouldn't approach a girl who's with a group of friends.
If she's not interested, as long as she was respectful about it, there's no hard feelings... maybe she's got a man, not looking, I'm not her type, or just the timing is bad. Just be respectful about it.
So to make a long story short, it's a pride thing, some dudes take it personal. Most guys aren't like that, but the ones that are tend to be the ones up in your face all the time. Holla!
