Leave Now? Or leave later?

You guys I have a dilemma... I am going through some things right now, and based on personal problems, financial problems, I have decided to leave my school and transfer. I already know what school I want to transfer to, I plan on attending that school back home next semester. (They are giving me financial aid, my school I am currently at is not) My parents just found out that it would be cheaper for me to leave within a month or so than to leave at the end of the semester. I really don't care one way or the other whether I stay the semester, and my parents have not paid for the entire semester...they still owe 75% of tuition for this semester...but will it look bad if I withdraw from school rather than to wait until the end of the semester until I get my grades? I already have college credit, so losing credits from this school wouldn't be a big deal...I don't know what to do...right now, I just want to leave...but I want to leave RIGHT...HELP!

Hotep, First, how far away from ohio are you? Can you just Drop everything and leave? What is the school Tution policy? These are questions that you should ask yourself. Next, Have you already been accepted to the "College" you plan to attend? Is the school Sem. or QT? I transfered from the WU(Wilberforce) and I now attend Otterbein College in Columbus, Ohio. So, These are things you need to really consider. Otterbein didn't take my math, and a couple of other class that are a pain to take so really weight your options talk to them about your grades. I had a high GPA that will now start over. So, Think, think, think Prince... Where are you going?

I am in the process of talking to the other college about my classes...I am 10 hours away from Ohio, and I am going to Transfer to Baldwin-Wallace College, in Berea, Ohio... I already know that B-W will not take my Math or my University 101 class if I stay for the semester...I am trying to see what other classes will transfer, but it looks as if most of them will transfer. I came to college with 12 credits from previous post-secondary work from 2 other colleges (because I did Post Secondary Enrollment Options) and B-W will accept those 12 credits. I have researched thoroughly (more than I did before I came to the college where I am at now) and B-W accepts my credits, not my GPA. I will be talking to the transfer counselor on Monday, and that school is on semesters, like the school I am currently at. I am revisiting in November, and my parents only paid about $2300 of my tuition (they still owe more than $7000)...so in the meantime, all I can do is pray about it...it will be a long semester if I stay, and if I go home now, I will feel like a failure...I don't know what to do, but already I feel horrible for wasting my parents money and my time being here when I hate it... I guess it's just one of life's lessons, huh?

When I left the WU I felt sad but I knew that it was for the Good. I left a school where tution was about 16,000 to where now my tution is more then most folks make a year $30,000. My family told me to do what I know was best for me. Thats what I am telling you to do. Do that Which is BEST for You Nobody Knows you like you know yourself. However, Please RESEARCH, Talk to the other BLACKS that attend the school. See what really goes on . Don't plan a visit just pop up and walk around see how campus life is. Prince... See tha school I am at is a "prestigious" hbcu...most ppl on here already know what school I go to...and at the same time I don't wanna stay just because it's "prestigious" school...I know that I can get a good education elsewhere and be happy at the same time. I feel that I need to be closer to home for the time being because right now I am going through some things and no one can help me like my famliy can...the school that I am transferring to is a great school, I always said that I would go there if it was farther away but now that I am 10 hours away, I feel that right now being near home is the best thing for me. I keep telling ppl here that I want to leave...maybe that is the problem...anyway thank you for the advice, it was very helpful...I needed it.
