Nextel and Cingular has the best service. Nextel phones are **** though, but Cingular have some decent phones.
I recommend that you stay as far away from Sprint as possible. The coverage is mediocre and the customer service is ridiculous. I just left Sprint and trust me the nights @ 7 is not gonna do you any good if you can't get any service

Sprint got cute phones and u can get lots of ringtones.....thats about it :?
T-Mobile has good coverage in VA, they arent too expensive and the free nights and weekends last all night, unlike some services which cut you off at 12. I'd recommend T-Mobile.
I've had Sprint for about a year now. I haven't really had any problems from them. As far as I've seen, the coverage is excellent. I don't know what people are talking about when they say the coverage ****. I've been out in the middle of nowhere and still gotten full service. Its actually one of the few carriers that gets a good signal in my hometown (which is in the STICKS). The only problem that I had with my phone is after a run in with a kid running around a grocery store with a shopping cart. Even though my phone is severely damaged it still works like it did when I got it. I just don't like that Sprint doesn't offer rollover minutes. :?

I have T-mobile right now. They have cute phones and they were the first ones with camera phones, even before sprint. They have the 3 day weekened plan, where you get free nights and weekeneds, and your weekends last from Friday to Sunday. Nights are 9pm to 5 or 6am (can't remember).
However, service could be better in some areas. Like I can't hardley ever get good service in a house or building. My plan is almost up and I'm thinking of switching to Cingular, they've got excellent coverage.
Sprint does have horribile service in many areas.
Nextel is very good also. My friends got nextel and they get service in closets, elevators, basements, everywhere you can imagine! No other service can do that. The only thing I don't like about nextel is that their phones are too bulky. But for service I would reccommend Nextel and Cingular Wireless.
I guess there has to be a balance; good service and a decent phone. I think Verizon has good service despite the fact that they don't have the most appealing phones. T-mobile would have been my second choice.
