 On December 4, 2004 a fellow student at Texas Southern University, Ashley Sloan got **** over something so stupid and she was an innocent by-stander. It was a Houston vs. Dallas rivialry fight(they're other different stories going around also) and a guy started **** and it hit her in the head and died on the scene. Some people around campus didn't even know that the campus was already on a high crime alert but I guess something so tragic have to happen to make the President, faculty, staff and also students to realize that LIFE is so precious!
God bless her famliy and friends!

Houston police are seeking the public's help in identifying the **** who fatally shot a Texas Southern University co-ed at 3550 Blodgett on Saturday, December 4, 2004, about 3:30 a.m.
The ****, 20 year-old Ashley Sloan, of Dallas, Texas lived on the campus. Sloan suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced **** at the scene.
According to HPD **** Division Sergeant W. Booth and Officer C. Abbondandolo, Sloan, who was not the intended target, and a group of friends were in one of the student parking lots on campus when a disagreement occurred between two groups of men. Witnesses stated they believed the two men were about to fight when one of the men produced a pistol and fired one shot into the air. The suspect then fired several more times toward a group of people near Sloan and her friends.
Everyone in the parking lot started running, but Sloan fell to the ground with a gunshot wound to the head. "This was nothing more than a senseless killing of an innocent person and Ms. Sloan was not the intended target", said Officer Abbondandolo. "Some of the people who were there may have seen something but are afraid to come forward. We need those witnesses to call us and tell us what they saw", added Abbondandolo. Investigators said that many of the students at the scene had cell phones and called friends to tell them what happened.
Witnesses told investigators that on the night of the **** there were several parties held in the area. The unidentified suspect is described as a tall thin black male in his late teens to early twenties. Investigators believe he may live in the area and was seen with two other men. **** investigators are interested in talking to any additional witnesses who have not yet come forward. Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
