DILEMMA!! what should I pledge...Kappa or Alpha

yo wassup, dis is kerry aka lil' gleek. I have a dilemma, shawty. I'm going to attend college soon and everyone is hounding me already about what I should pledge. I'm between the kappas and the alphas. My mom's boss has been helping me out after my parents' divorce and he wants me to pledge kappa. :wink: BUT, at the same time, my dad wants me to "continue the legacy" and pledge alpha. Make it so bad, his line literally raised me when i was at my diaper ages. They call me lil' gleek since i'm the son of big gleek(my dad) Eek

What should I do?!!! :?

Whatever organization you become involved in you need to be sure thts what you want to do. We can offer you all the advice in the world it has to be where your heart is. Remember you cant do it for daddy or a friend because when your Online its just you and your LB's not daddy or your family friend.

also, to add on to this you should learn a little bit about all the frats. before your decide to pledge so that you know for sure that you are making the right decision, because if you're joining a frat. cuz ur dad did, you're joining for the wrong reason, and since it soulds like ur still in H.S. you should focus on getting into college and doing well, since education should be ur #1 priority not the social aspects of school...so good luck wit whatever you do, and focus a little more on school and worry about pledging when the time comes since that sounds like it's years away. LOL

That's not true at all, you need to just wait until you get to college and see for yourself, because too much tv will wash ya mind away. Not all Kappas are yellow or soft, mess up one of their lines and you will see how soft the Kappas are (that goes for any Sorority or Fraternity). As for the above poster you should not pledge what someone else wants you to pledge. You have to live with it for the rest of "your" life, not your mother, father, neighbor or lil' dog name scooby. Of course your father would want you to pledge the same frat as him. But my mother is an AKA and I just cleary did not want to pledge AKA, nothing against them, I just wanted to pledge where my heart was, which was Delta Sigma Theta. So you should do your research on all the fraternities, and choose with your heart, not what other people suggest.
