I have never so upset in my life. My mother just got off the phone with A&T financial aid. They only gave me a lil bit over $2,000 (including loans!). I have to come up with $6,500 by Friday or find another school.
Do you have to be dirt-poor and living in cardboard boxes to get a decent financial aid package?
pray for me

WELL SISTA, I DO FEEL FOR YOU. BECAUSE I ONLY WISH I COULD GET SOME FINANCIAL AIDE OR SOMETHING I MEAN MY PARENTS WON'T LET ME TAKE OUT ANY LOANS OR ANYTHING BUT I DO WISH I HAD SOME SORT OF FINANCIAL HELP. BUT THERE'S THIS LOAN CALLED "PARENTS PLUS", ITS THROUGH SALLIE MAE AND BASICALLY YOU'RE PARENTS TAKE OUT THE LOAN FOR U, AND IT PAYS ALL OF YOUR TUITION AND OTHER EXPENSES WHILE YOU'RE IN COLLEGE. I KNOW THATS ALOT OF MONEY TO TAKE OUT BUT MAYBE U COULD TAKE OUT ONE YEARS WORTH AND THEN TRY THE FINANCIAL AIDE THING AGAIN. I DONT KNOW.........JUST A THOUGHT
GOOD LUCK THOUGH...

I'm in the same shoes as you, Hon. Try not to get discouraged. Let that frustration motivtate you to do things such as apply for scholarships (which will probably only help you for next year) and call organization. I have a "black yellow pages" magazine and I going to start calling tommorow and asking how much they can donate. Just tell them your story. Maybe ask what you can do for them as a last resort. You may get a lot of no's but keep trying. Maybe look into work study at your school or just beg the FA office and tell them what's going on with you. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I just said a prayer for you too. Be encouraged.

As a matter of fact, it really is kinda hard to get a substantial amount of money if ur middle class and doinf aight for urslef. All you can do it pray on it, and really try to keep ya grades good and apply for as many scholarships are u can. We wanna see u with us....
