That was a lengthy piece, but it was a real eye opener. I always knew the music was destructive, but I never thought about the real effects it has on people. And thats truly sad that someone could publicly justify beating their wife/girlfriend over some bull like "I heard she was cheating". issues like this in our community are overlooked because it seems as if we are airing our dirty laundry. There are countless numbers of women of color who are in abusive relationships, but they never seem to make the news. Even when u look at Lifetime, how many movies have u seen where the main character is a woman of color who overcomes an abusive relationship? NONE. I wish people would take a stand and stop sweeping problems like domestic **** under the rug.

Well, i think that these so-called strong black men need to step up to the plate and help their male counterparts out. We, women can only say so much and even then, what we say is of no value to them. That's why we need for men to speak out against this and stop worrying about being accepted by other males. By, that way....Where are the guys??? I would like to hear what these HBCU guys have to say.

That article was interesting but not really surprising. It's sad to say but this has been an on going problem. It really does take for both men and women to step up to the plate and say that this is unacceptable behavior. I have seen it happen to so many people so many times and other people just seem to look the other way like they don't see it. It really disappoints me when other men will sit back and not even try to stop the abuser. It's a sad state of affairs.
