That was a lengthy piece, but it was a real eye opener. I always knew the music was destructive, but I never thought about the real effects it has on people. And thats truly sad that someone could publicly justify beating their wife/girlfriend over some bull like "I heard she was cheating".
issues like this in our community are overlooked because it seems as if we are airing our dirty laundry. There are countless numbers of women of color who are in abusive relationships, but they never seem to make the news.
Even when u look at Lifetime, how many movies have u seen where the main character is a woman of color who overcomes an abusive relationship? NONE.
I wish people would take a stand and stop sweeping problems like domestic **** under the rug.

i can't even put into words how much this issue breaks my heart...and it's so common... and what it said about black men being **** owners...it's so true.
