Has anyone ever been to Girls State?

I guess it has something to do with the American Legions and its like you go to a college campus for a week and set up a mock government or something....Its supposed to look really good on your college application. I interviewd for it earlier in the year and just got chosen to go but I was wondering has anyone else heard of it?

Yeah well I went to North Carolia's Boy's State last summer and enjoyed myself. Plus it was a good break from all the kids at my job. lol. I was elected City manager. I had a great time and even got my CPR certificate there. You'll enjoy it and it definitely looks good on your application. What state do you live in?

I live in New York state.....where were yalls girls/boys state held? Was it at a college?

they host one here at Georgia Southern University and every summer that i've been in Upward Bound lol we used to spit game to the dudes at Boys State and then finally we asked them what it was about i wanted to do Girls State

Well I just got back from Girls State yesterday and I have to say that it was one of the greatest experiences I've had thus far. Im very happy I went...Out of the 360 girls there were only 12 black girls....But thats ok cause one of them *Yeah TIFF!* got Govenor. I was elected county judge. But seriously if any of you are in tenth grade make sure u look into it for next year.
