Redskin Taylor faces ****, battery charges in Miami June 5, 2005 MIAMI (AP) -- Washington Redskins free safety Sean Taylor was released on $16,500 bond after he was arrested and charged with aggravated **** with a firearm. Taylor, 22, turned himself in to Miami-Dade County police Saturday and was released later that night, Miami-Dade corrections spokeswoman Janelle Hall said Sunday. Since Taylor was set free, the Miami-Dade County clerk's office will set an arraignment date later. Taylor was accompanied by defense attorney Fred Moldovan when he surrendered on charges of aggravated **** with a firearm and simple battery, police said. ADVERTISEMENT According to a police statement, Taylor pointed a gun at an unidentified person Wednesday during a dispute over two all-terrain vehicles he claimed were stolen. Taylor left the scene but returned about 10 minutes later and punched one person. Another man, Charles Elwood Caughman, threatened and chased another **** with a baseball bat, police said. Caughman, 19, was arrested later that day and charged with aggravated ****. Police said the Redskins have cooperated during the investigation. ``The representatives for Taylor are keeping us informed as to the developments,'' Redskins spokesman Karl Swanson said. Taylor's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, didn't return phone messages left at his office Saturday and Sunday. Moldovan didn't immediately return a call to his answering service for comment Sunday. Taylor, who wants a new contract, has been working out in Miami despite pleas from Redskins coach Joe Gibbs to join the team in voluntary workouts at their home base in suburban Washington. He signed a seven-year, $18 million deal as the No. 5 overall draft pick in the 2004 draft. The former Miami Hurricanes standout has had a tempestuous start to his NFL career. He has fired two agents, was fined for skipping one day of the NFL's mandatory rookie symposium and was accused of spitting on a player during a game at Cincinnati, although he wasn't punished because the league said there was no video evidence. He was also charged with drunken driving in October, when he was pulled over at 2:45 a.m. after attending a birthday party for receiver Rod Gardner. Those charges were dismissed in January. In his rookie season, Taylor had 89 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and one sack and started 13 games.

ARE YOU SERIOUS. Patrick Ramsey was handlin his business during his second year before gettin injured. The only reason why brunell was brought in was because of JOE GIBBS w/ his 1906 statue of liberty playbook. Patrick Ramsey is a good qB and when he is indeed the man and has people backing him up he will come thru. Now Jason Campbell, surely has the potential to screw up a team. I could see if he was really a standout QB in college, but he had the number 2 and 5 picks in the NFL draft in his back field. He did do a good job last year tho, but the skins are unspeakably smart for not even given him a real chance. ESPECIALLY, considering that he was a first rounder. I think the REDSKINS will never have any type of chemistry as long as they continue changing their entire starting lineups every year. Laverneus Coles was on their team for like two seasons, we all know the QB swaps, clinton portis came by trade IMO wasn't as dominant as he even could of been. And of course I know I'm not the only one that remembers the year the skins basically ramsacked the JETS free agents. O yea this was about sean taylor tho. He's got MAD talent and he's being very stupid. He was a top 10 pick, and got paid like a top ten pick, and last year had a nice year. Nothing that should make him worthy of a new contract. He's already screwin up off the field. This dude missed his rookie orientation, so he came in on the wrong road. He gotta get it together quickly, and humble his self. He got crazy TALENT, but he just gotta act like a adult, and a professional. When he gets that settled, he can start markin his spot as the best safety in the league.
