It's hard to say. I probably would do a job I don't like because my priority would be to make sure that my family is well taken care of. But then again, doing a job I love but pays low might pay off in something big in the end. I mean it depends. Are talking about a career or just something temporary.

^For a career. There are people out there making major bucks but aren't happy with their jobs. And there are people out there happy and fulfilled with their jobs but aren't making that much money doing it.

I feel like you gotta do something you can love or grow to love to do, but if that certain thing doesn't pay well, you gotta find something else that you can love to do. But no matter what you have to remember that you gotta be a man, and you have to grow up and support yourself and/or your family. Even if you're not able to find a job that you love.

I believe if you goin to college you will get paid good. My mother lives paycheck to paycheck and she isn't gettin paid anywhere CLOSE to what the avg. job that college graduates get paid. Actually, I'm goin into a profession (social work) that is said to be underpaid, but it's estimated that at the least, I'll be gettin 3x's more than her. What I'm gettin at is what do you consider a low income, or not getting paid enough. I'm sure some people grew up in a higher income household but I'm not exactly in the middle class and they would possibly consider a certain amount nothing while I'll consider it a nice amount or at least decent. The profession that I'm goin into is social work and I'll be gettin paid 60,000 at the most (since I intend on working in a h.s.). It's not enough for the job that I'll be doing but it's worth it because I can do what I enjoy. I'm not Latrell Sprewell and I KNOW my kids would be able to eat bringin in anything close to that income. I may marry someone who get's paid more than me, and to me thats straight. I'm sure some dudes got the "man of the house" type ego and want to get paid the most and everything, but that really means nothing if the bills are being paid, you wife and kids are happy, and you are still playing your role. I actually would want to marry a woman who get's paid more or the same as me lol. Not so I can come to her to get cash, but just so money won't ever be an issue because we both can easily handle the business and more.

O yea, and to answer the question: Making a big amount of money means nothing if you go through life doing something that you don't enjoy for the rest of your life. I mean, I want to enjoy life and I believe if I am in a actual career (not some high school degree entry level job w/ trash benefits) that I can enjoy then I will be happy. Anyway, I believe if anyone really enjoyed a certain career they would make the sacrifice of being paid less. Ex. I wanted to be a computer programmer up until this year because I knew I would get paid and wouldn't have to go through a lot of schooling. I suddenly lost interest and realized how crappy life would be working w/ a machine that wouldn't give me the feedback that would bring me satisfaction. I researched, prayed and came upon social work. I found that I could help people and have an impact on actual lives. Helping others move towards satisfaction satisfies me and really makes me happy. One thing that I stumbled upon was the estimated salary which was low. Not too close to 100 thousand a year, but compared to what my mother raised three kids on, it's something that I could definitely deal with. Here I am now, about to pick up the tools and credentials that will help me in that area. It's a sacrifice, but the fact that I'll be able to help others makes up for the money that I would probaly give away anyway.

to me, a job that I love is more essential even if it pays less. But it isn't up to me, not in my eyes. I'm praying that God will give me a career that I will love and be able to live comfortably as well. I believe that if God leads me to the job that I love, He will take care of me. Besides, I'm not gona be tha head of the house, so it's not gonna be my responsiblity to take care of the house.
