I know you may have had this topic before but i'm new to this posting thing and really wanted to know your opinion about my situation Quite a few of my family members are part of a specific sorority. They constantly ask every summer when am i going to make that step. I keep avoiding it because my interest has floated to another sorority. I've done my reseach on both and respect both organizations, but i want to go the opposite way and go with my heart and not with the family. Anywho, I found out through a friend that the sorority i would love to be a part of is not doing intake this semester :sad: . Well the organization that my family members are a part of is having a Rush, but i really don't want to play myself and join something that i'm not feelin. Out of respect for the family should i go to the rush anyway or should i follow my heart? i'm really feeling bad about this cause my brother told i need to go to the rush. By the way, i'm a senior and we don't have spring lines, sooooo this is it. I did not proofread my post so forgive me for the mistakes.

I think you should be honest and do what you feel...follow your heart. They either accept it or not!!! oooooooooooooooooooo-ooooooooooooooooooooooop!

In all seriousness go with your heart. dont join an org just because it was in ur family members heart...but ONLY if it is in yours. Secondly, who said that you had to become greek in undergrad? If you REALLY want to join this org for ALL THE RIGHT REASONS then undergrad shouldnt matter. On another note...think about this...as a graduating senior why should that chapter take you on their line? you will NOT be of any value being that you will graduate any way. (thats the harsh truth)

Exactly, Greek life goes way beyond undergrad. This is just 4 years out of a lifetime commitment. There is absolutely nothing wrong with pledging grad chapter. If this sorority is where u feel led, then don't try to limit yourself becuz of what others will think. Are they gonna be there to pay all of your dues/expenses/nalia, give u transportation and support to get around the country for every local, regional, or national conference, do all of that community service, plan every event and program u put on, and deal with your sorors/sisters with they start driving u crazy? More than likely, no. At the end of the day, it's all about u. U have to do what is best for u and u alone. Follow your heart hun

Out of respect for the sorority you should go grad for whats in your heart. Me personally I feel that if it's not in your heart then whats the point in doing it at all! Especially being that this will be a LIFETIME committment. Your family will just have to get over it. Goodluck with everything.
