Now many may think...how is this possible. Well I've had my heart set on Spelman for some time now but I was unsure of my major.....I just decided about 2 weeks ago that I would like to major in communications/broadcasting and Journalism....The problem is...Spelman doesnt have a communications program I heard I could cross register at Clark who has a really good communications program..but will it be as equal as having it as a major? Im sooo confused!

I had the same problem. I wanted to major in film but Norfolk didn't have a film major. So I majored in Mass Comm and I'm gonna go back to film school later on, and get it as my second degree. I'm not sayin that'll work for you. But I just did some rearranging, as far my dreams.

Remember there is always more than one way to get to your career. A good example is how the poster above me went about getting his degree Clark Atlanta has one of the best mass communication majors in the southeast and among HBCU's. If u take classes at Clark you will still get a Spelman degree and everything will work out good

Hey! Spelman offers a degree in political science, get your degree in that. Then go to grad school at another college and get ur masters in journalism/mass comm. In a way Political science encompassess all those things in communications/journalism. I think that would be a good combination when u go look for a job.

:???: Im a Journalism major and no, Political Science is NOT a substitute. Neither is Mass Comm. If you want to major in Journalism then find a school that offers it.
