if u go to the movies go to the one in Chinatown
I went to PG plaza (outside DC) and i thought it was ok
People say Georgetown and Adams Morgan is nice (neighborhoods)
oh and if u want to shop nice go to Chevychase
oh, my friend lives in Silver Spring and they got a nice "downtown" wit stuff to do
thats all i kno...
Well as far as museums are concerned, there's the whole Smithsonian downtown. It's a collection of different museums: African Art, Natural History, American History, Native American, Air and Space, the Holocaust museum and I think that's about it.
Chinatown is a good place for restaurants, it's not only chinese restaurants but like Ruby Tuesdays, a seafood restaurant, etc. Georgetown is also a good place for restaurants if you like italian and other international flavors and it's a good place for shopping, there's a mall down there and shops along the streets.
On U Street, right around the corner from HU, are some nice little shops as well as some good restaurants.
The nicest mall in the metro area is Tyson's Corner, but that's kind of far from Howard. Pentagon City is nice too though and it's not far, it's just across the 14th street bridge in Virginia.
Chevy Chase/Mazza Gallery is only a nice place to shop if you plan on spending hella money. The only regular priced shops are Hecht's, TJ Maxx, Loehmann's, and Filene's Basement. Other than that your choices are Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Saks, Tiffany's, and other high end stores like that.
Hope I was helpful :0)
