Ridding themselves of "Affirmative Action"

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay I had to do it. This is positively ALARMING! As many of you, I'm sure know already....PWIs aren't req'd to deliniate a certain number of available spots to minorities anymore. This can be tragic for our people. The reason so many of us were able to climb out (the hood, ghetto w/e) was becasue doors were forced open for us. Much of the middle class of America (our parents basically) was able to better themselves on the backs of affirmative action. Now dont get me wrong, I understand why the lawsuit was made, and I understand that it might have been looked at as racist (or bacwards racism???) but I definitely think something needs to be put in place where these huge monopolizing 'white giants' are somehow policed. I don't want us (blacks) to have to go back to how things were.

affirmative action was a big deal because our parents and cousins MADE it a big deal. the black community as a whole is going through an apatheic stage right now

oh yea definitely...letters need to be written and phone calls need to be made. It's crazy to think of how alot of us would still be suffering if not for A-A. Things need to be done but who as an individual is willing to do that?
