Do summer lines still exsist?

Hello my fellow greeks, I was at the greek picnic in Atl a few weeks ago and I saw someone with a line jacket on indicating that they crossed on a summer line and I was just wondering do any of you know of any schools that still have lines during the summer?

Was it the picnic at Morris Brown? As for summer lines I know i haven't seen any for awhile... i know for some people they start in the spring but for whatever reason they don't finish until the semester is officially over so they designate themselves as Summer. I'm sure they still exist somewhere but i know personally i haven't seen any that are from recent years.

yeah it was at Morris Brown on the plots.....can't remember what org but it was old school think it said Summer 95 on it

Used to be fairly common, especially among graduate chapters, or schools on quarter systems. Because MIP has been formalized for most groups, the national organizations have restricted the periods in which the intake process can occur. I guess winter and summer lines, kind of fell by the wayside.

our organization does summer lines although I think they're mostly grad chapters that do it.

i have heard of chapters who are trying to become chartered having summer lines as well.

I have a friend at OSU who told me that they had an org do a summer line last summer...but beyond that...I dont know of any orgs that do summer lines
