What do you think is the most critical issue for the Black community today? If the government had to focus its spending on one issue of the above, which would take precedence? Just curious... Holla!

I definately believe that more money should be spend on education in the black community. Some of the things that I have seen and heard about in school districts are horrible and children can't possibly learn in those circumstances. Some kids don't have books, good teachers, and many other simple things that all student should have not just those in the 'burbs.

Thats not an excuse, it's a valid fact. Most inner city schools are not equal to suburban schools because the governmet give black schools less funding, if they do give them any at all. How do you expect these kids to reach their full learning ability if their not being provided with the proper resources for learning? I know from experience how it is having been to both a majority white highschool, then a majority black highschool. At the black school, we students didn't have a full classroom set of books, so the teacher would have to spend his/her money making copies to give to the whole class. Lots of teachers at black schools don't even care about their jobs because of the poor conditions. I don't know how many times my AP European history teacher use to walk out of class and go home, and leave us students in the class chillen without a teacher for 2 hours. And he was white too., but at a black school. Now how do you expect kids to learn under these conditions, furthermore, how do you expect a child to be motivated about learning, when the teacher isn't motivated? At the white school it was a whole different story. I say a definite yes, that the gov't should give more money to black schools and make some reforms to the education system.Quote:EDUCATION. i am so sick of that tired excuse that they dont get what the kids in the suburbs get, so somebody need to spend some money and get them what they need. cause i dont think that is a good excuse
