National Honor Society (senior year) - 1 year
S.A.D.D. - 2 years
Track (JV) - 2 years
Cross Country (JV) - 1 year
ACT: 33
I'm an Ethiopian-American female.

So my grades pretty much suck, but what do you guys think are my chances? Especially at NYU; that's my dream school.
Please be completely honest; don't post answers like "You can do whatever you set your mind to." Also, if you post a reply, please don't just say something like "I think you have a shot." Give me REASONS you think I have a shot; is it a reach? A match? What?
PLEASE reply, everyones opinion is valued.
Thanks! =)

For these schools you can usually go on www.collegeboard.com and see what the average GPA is for admitted students, how many students usually apply and how many from them get admitted, what the average SAT/ACT scores are and all that kind of information. They might have that on the school website too.
I know that for Hampton my sister had like a 2.8 or somewhere around there and she got accepted and got a tuition scholarship. I had a 3.2 or 3.3 and got accepted. But with your ACT scores you would be eligible for a full 4-yr scholarship including tuition, room & board, a $500 book stipend and a computer, GPA does not factor into your scholarship. So you should definitely be good.
And just because I'm bored and nobody has said anything about Howard in either one of the posts I went to collegeboard so you wouldn't have to lol
For Howard, the 52% of admitted students had a GPA between 2.5 and 3.24
If you use the ACT you must have taken it with the writing section but the average score is usually between 20-28
I think you would be good as far as grades and ACT scores as long as you had the written section. You have a lot of extra curriculars and you really brought your grades up the last two years of school. But, the best way to see how your chances are is to actually apply
I hope this helped you in any way. Good luck on getting into these schools, especially NYU since that is the one you really want to go to.
