I live 15 minutes from TSU, and I have a plethora of friends that go there or will be going...so needless to say, I 'm down there all of the time... TSU- be ready to party, lol... TSU is what you make of it, I honestly love it there...I don't miss a homecoming for anything...theres always something to do, plus youre surrounding by other great colleges such as Fisk, Vandy, Belmont, and so on... Can't tell you too much about the academics, but I'm sure someone can assists you with that...anything dealing with the social life, ask me! lol

I live less that 3 minutes from hampton university but I don't go there...yet. I know some people that go there some love it some hate it. Most if the people I talk to say that you spend entirely too much money to attend this school and don't see the benefits of it. I personally think the school is great and most students get jobs right after graduation. The city is medium sized some may call it small depending on where you're from so there probably won't be much to do most of the time. There is always a party going on somewhere close by. any more questions about the area feel free to ask.

I definitely recommend TN State University, academically and socially. TSU is committed to educating its students as well as providing social events. TSU student body is comprised of people from probably every state in the US and several foreign countries. TSU is located in Nashville, TN, which is close to several major cities, such as Atlanta , Memphis, St. Louis, Indianapolis, and Chicago. Nashville is home to several HBCU’s, which includes TSU, Fisk University, and Meharry Medical College. In addition, it is home to Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb, Trevecca, Nashville School of Law, MTSU, which means you will encounter several young adults. Metropolitan Nashville is comprised of several companies and headquarters (Nissan, HCA, Dell, Nortel, Louisiana Pacific, Caterpillar Financial, Saturn, Bellsouth, Genesco, etc...). Overall, it’s a productive city with lots of opportunity for all races. The main con with respect to TSU is that we are in the Ohio Valley Conference. Therefore, we are not apart of the SWAC or MEAC, which are HBCU conferences. However, we play several HBCUs in sports, such as Jackson State (southern classic), Florida A & M (Atlanta Classic), Alabama A & M (John Merritt Classic), and Southern University. From my understanding, the Ohio Valley Conference pays well so it’s a financial benefit. Check out the post titled “Tennessee State University by Superfly”. I provided a response that will definitely give you a better feel for TSU. Honestly, I am confident you will enjoy TSU, if you decide to attend. If you have additional questions, please let me know. Good Luck!

I am not sure about the specific details with respect to TN State/Meharry. However, most of TN State Students attend Meharry Medical College, after graduation. To my understanding, it eliminates one year from Med School. As far as the tigerbelles, they are the truth. They usually win the Ohio Valley Conference championship. Check out the TN State scholarship link below. Best wishes with your future endeavors. University's Official Scholarship Website

Idk where you decided to go and I'm extra late you should've put that deposit in by now. But I attend Hampton University and it's a love/hate relationship. I love the people, both professor and students. If you go and take health take Prof Alexander love, love, love her. The parties and cabarets and all other events are on point. Kevin Hart, Marlon Wayans, Monica, Ryan Leslie, and even Tye Tribbett were on campus this past school year +more. The worse thing is the administration. You just have to stay on them or it won't get done. I know a friend of mine just received her Fall 08 refund check last month. And another has yet to receive anything from HU confirming they're still a student there after doin what she's suppose to do. But overall the academics are on point.
