i would say that it is more hidden because "african american" people dont take no sh*8. However i did hear how it is STILL not against the law to born a cross in somebody's yard (that's crazy ) but i guess it dont happen alot cause of the "no trespassing" thing (but wouldn't that be only if you catch the person and get that restriction thing on them?)

Racism is still alive. In Chicago, it is very evident... 1st.... Chicago is very segregated. White people run when black people move near them. The only diverse area in Chicago is my area....Hyde Park...This is where the University of Chicago dwell and alot of well-to-do black folks live. Secondly- A group of my friends and I were kicked out a resturaunt for being black. The manager ws a racist and told us we were not of age to eat there. He claimed we needed to have 1 adult for every child under 21... (We were all 18). However, this was posted no were in the door and, the restuaraunt was open for College students. As we left, we saw white people younger tha us without parents...As you can see, this is vey racist... Funny he did not know our parents were big time Lawyers, Doctors, Politicians, Newscasters, and Preachers.. Now we are in the process of suing.

now i am from the deep south and u can best believe racism is still prevelent here. i have said in other posts i am an army brat so my town is an army town so there is a lot of mixes but you would be surprised how many people here have the mentality of the "old south" a few months ago we had a few outbreaks of racial profiling... two prominent african american men (one was the basketball coach at my school and the other was an a business executive) driving a nice car through a newly developed part of town ("white). well after being pulled out of their vehicle....*cant remember what took place next*.......but consequently the accountant was shot by one of the officers for no apparent reason (at least this is what was said in the newspapers). the accountant died as a resullt of this ****.....so YES racism is very very prevelent

You might want to read Why are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?by Beverly Daniel Tatum, Ph.D. She speaks very well on the issue of racism.

I know down here in Southern VA-racism is very prominent. People are still stuck in the "Old South" ways....its ridiculous. The **** have rallies....and the black people dont say too much about it because of the fear that the **** still have hold of them. There is a town down here called Poquoson-and NO BLACK PERSON DARES TO GO THERE---because that is **** heaven----and they have terrorized black people for goin there. My HS basketball team (which was all black) went to play their high school----and how bout those rednecks f@cked up the school buses that our team had to ride back on-jus cuz they was black, and they won. :x Its crazy.....
