Can HBCUs Prepare U Better 4 The Future Than Non HBCUs?

I am :x ! I was talking to my aunt last night about my college decision and future. I told her that I plan on going to Hampton, and she feels as though that is a bad choice , and that I would be better off at a non HBCU. She says that they will set me up for the "real world". I feel as though Hampton and other HBCUs can set its graduates up for success. I wanna be the product of a HBCU and become an successful businessman. I also feel as though its not the school that will make me successful but how hard I work to reach my goals. I was wondering what are your opinions on how HBCUS can prepare us for the future in comparision to non HBCUS.If this is a repeated post MY FAULT.

Hey Jomarr. Your aunt does make a point about non-hbcu's preparing you for the future better than an HBCU because of the diversity. But its up to you to make that decision, as you said, its what you make out of it. You have to go to the school so it sould be your decision, I know I rather go to an HBCU thats why I'm here now.

however if your heart is set on going to an hbcu then go 4 it!
yes ur aunt has a point but she is not necessarily right. i mean yes hbcu's do kind of give u a distoted since of reality but it also connects u with your people....hbcus makses brings u closer to the dreams and aspirations of some of the greatest african american leaders of our time...at an hbcu u have an opporunity to impact the people..after being at an hbcu for a year now i cant tell u how the experience has changed your life...if this is what u want then let no one deter u from ur dream

My teacher (which is white) and I was talking about this and he feels that at a HBCU that a black student will have the same quality education if not better than a black student at a non HBCU because the professors at a HBCU want to see their young black students succeed, which is why they may be teaching at a HBCU and will push us to be successful in life and not just be there for the pay check.
