As long as your RA doesn't catch you with those items, you are okay. If they do catch you, some RAs are cool and will not fine you. Others take their jobs rather serious.
What would you suggest we bring?

Ok, from someone that been there and done that RECENTLY, I let you know what and what not to bring into your dorm . . . .
Do Bring a:
Mini Fridge
Iron and board
TV
Stereo
vcr/dvd (your choice, i had both)
twin sheets (more thant one set)
some egg shell things for the bed
about 2-3 pillows
a comforter
A Bible, or "your" spiritial handbook
small area rug
a lot of towels
a FAN
Shower Caddy
Shower shoes
Robe
cups, plates, eating utensils
pots/pans (all dorms a least have kitchens)
and all your clothes and supplies you THINK you may need
a car if you got one
pictures of family/friends
tape, phone, phone cord, cable cord, cell phoneabout 3 extension cords or surge portectors, computer/laptop
You can try to bring:
a small microwave
a sandwich maker
a George Foreman grill
a hot plate
Don't Bring:
too much sh!t
clothes you haven't worn this year
broken stuff, start off new, if it breaks, then rig it up!
stress, no need to bring it, it already there
a bad attitutde, you will catch it if you do
