In 2004 we have the technology to do many wonderous things. Why haven't we figured out how to use technology to positively effect the culture of our youth? If you are an African American parent and think that we (blacks) could use the internet more effectively to assist our young, please respond. Thank You.

What are some of the internet sites that your children like to visit? I would like to hear from those of you who have children that use the internet. Thank You.

Ummm... sorry... not too many of us that have children. However, if you're looking for ideas as to using the internet to advance ourselves, especially our children, I think you'll need to start with the parents. There are an alarming amount of our people that don't know anything at all about computers. Not only should you start with the parents, but they shouls learn how to operate a computer before venturing onto the internet. Knowing about computers isn't just knowing how to punch a whole bunch of keys on a keyboard. They should learn the inner workings of a computer. Not only that, but there are college students that don't know how to use a PC (I came across one girl trying to plug a CAT 5 cable into a USB port... :? ). I'm willing to gamble that once you implement a program that would teach parents and the like to use computers for more than playing solitare, then you can use the possibilites of using the internet more effectively.
