"Dating" question for Greeks and all others

When finding a mate, do you seek out/ "prefer" a particular Greek or just a Greek period? Case 1: I met this dude who happens to be a member of DEF, he says he only dates AKAs and he is adamant about that. It's no secret I'm an AKA, so let me make it known that I think this is just silly. Case 2: I know a chic who is non-Greek and she actively seeks out men who are Greek. They just HAVE to have letters! In fact, as far as I know, all of her boyfriends have been members of BGL frats  . Her current dude is a Kappa. Case 3: I also know of a chic(Greek) who has openly stated that she is GOING to marry her a Kappa. :? I am dating a Greek right now but I do not actively seek out Greek males, no way. In fact, I'd prefer a man who wasn't Greek! <----long story but anyways. Granted, a lot of us Greeks are around one or the other a lot so we are going to meet plenty of one another, especially those of us at HBCUs, couples are liable to form. But I know I aint the only one who knows folks who are obsessed with being with someone just because they're Greek. Frat men, we all know yall's lives probably changed when you got your letters. I'm sure the girls (yes GIRLS) who wouldn't give you any play before the letters are on ya sack now  Does anyone else know of similar scenarios?

i agree. id rather have a man that is non-greek and no, i dont actively seek out greeks either. it just happens that i used to talk to a Kappa before he became one and i used to go with an Omega. Other than that, i can care less. A guy once told me that he likes to Date Zetas b/c we're more down to earth and less snotty, i told him to step out the box and stop stereotyping b/c that ish is for the birds fa real.

I think its down right dumb to just seek out a GREEK just because you are.I choose mates according to the overall character of the person...

MANNN!!! I know a chic that is JUSSST like that! she's a kappa groupie faREEEAL! And she don't hide it at all. Once I found that out about her I knew there couldn't be a relationship between us. I don't date Square minded people like her. Why do people think that just one group of people are the ones for them, no matter their personality, what do my greek colors have to do with the kind of person I am, or how I will treat you? granted greeks OVERALL have a stereotype of being distinguished and respectable, why would one greek org be a better mate than the other? I could never walk around saying I ONLY date XYZ's!!

I feel ya, I gives a damn about greek affiliation. As long as she got a pretty face, smile, dimples accented by a sunny personality, I'm cool with her.

*lawd* The groupies are something else. I was a frat party once and we'd brought a male friend along. He is a very handsome brotha and chics was riding him HARD the whole night. Turns out they were some Alpha groupies. They figured that since he was with us and he had on a black/gold Roc-a-Wear shirt, he HAD to be an Alpha. I overheard one of the broads say the next day "that **** aint even in no fraternity, ugh!". *smh!*

My man is non-Greek and pretty uniterested in Greek life. We roll in two totally different circles, which is fine with me. I don't like tat whole groupie mentality, although I was pretty attracted to the majority of the Kappas I knew a while back. Not for the letters of course, but because of a a family situation that we experienced years ago.

I know of people who only go after greeks, but the funny part is they never been in college. Personally, I don't usually date greeks (that's just me). My ex is an Alpha and that was the first time I ever dated a member of the BGLO.

I've never dated a greek before, but my last boyfriend was an interest. It really doesnt matter, whether they have letters or not, as long as I'm attracted to them and they aren't just trying to holla because I'm an AKA.
