didn't feel like lookin' up the article about it...but i know it's up on tha 'net somewhere 'cause i'm lookin' at the story right now on "The **** Factor"... but how about some middle school in Massachussetts (*sp) put Tupac's book of poems on its reading list what do ya'll think about that?? of course, they (the "experts" up on "The **** Factor" ) are downing that book being apart of the list... personally, i say middle school might be too young for the deep concepts Tupac puts forth in his poetry and/or lyrics....high school would probably be more appropriate....and college, that should be automatic (some university already does study Tupac)... but I say if these little kids gotta learn Shakespeare & the like...who spoke of just as much bizarre and extreme aspects of life and the world as Tupac did....then why not let 'em learn a lil bit more about Brotha Pac...?? i've read poems in that book ("The Rose That Grew from Concrete")...& the "experts" are worried about how Pac uses "u" instead of "you"..."r" instead of "are"...and whatnot... well umm....if Shakespeare's usage of "ye" hasn't influenced us negatively....why does Pac's variation of the word have to be an issue? it's always somethin', i tell ya ....

no, middle school kids are like 13, that's old enough. they hear about it in his music, they might as well study it. I read his collection in 7th grade. Oh, & we did this whole indepth Shakespeare thing my freshman HS year, and ol' Willy was a freak...half the ish in Romeo & Juliet was some straight freak-a-leek stuff, itz just that no one talks like that no more so u don't understand it. so basically If middle school kids can learn how to roll their A$$ round & round like a muthaphuckin wheel, they can learn about Tupac

I agree with Meya...Poetry by Tupac may be a lil young for middle schoolers...But I think its definitely apropriate for Juniors in high school to college seniors....If we can learn the poetry and read the plays of a bunch of white **** guys, then we can do the same for a influential **** black man who was a great poet and lyricist...
