One of my friends got his **** kicked cause he went to school..became a nupe...and got his **** kicked by his father because his father is a Que... He siad his father beated him because he did not follow his footsteps. However he felt the Que organization wasn't for him.. As a result his father beat him for making his own decision... :? His father don't even want to support him is school anymore Is this logical??? Sorry if I disrespected anyone...but I think that is Ludacris.....Please give your opinion...

D@mn....thats raw. We all pretty much know how I feel about this situation. Yeah I could have followed a legacy, but it wasn't me to do so. (CLEARLY why my LB calls me "Blu Ivy" now...) But that's a shame. I hope ya friend comes out on top of this one. His dad really needs to take a look at himself and what he's done. Thats not even about organizations... thats just wrong. U raise ur children to think for themselves, then punish them when they do?....

^^Cosigns :? :? :? That's too bad, but I've heard of that happening a lot.. my friend is a Delta and all of the women in her life were AKAs.. her mom cut her off... I think thats a bit extreme... not to down any org, but ... damn.. I couldn't do that... I don't think anything that little could make me turn on my child like that... whateva tho.. that daddy..hmmm DO you think that the oldheads take legacy more seriously than new members? I know a lot of people (not at HU) that pledged one way or another because they didn't want to disappoint their parents' and they didn't do what was right for them.. now they don't really abide by their orgs constitution/bylaws/code of conduct...:?

good thing no one in my fam has ever pledged anything...I will be the first (maybe) to even consider a sorority, so I'm glad there's no pressure for me to join a particular sorority

yeah thats too bad. I know a friend who's dad cut him off because he would always watch Fox, and his father worked for UPN. Now he lives on the streets, scavenging for food, but he can still walk into Best Buy and watch Fox every now & then....as long as it's on a Wednesday or Friday because his dads friend, Jimmy works on the other days and he might tell

****....ooooook... But on a serious tip, thats grimey as hell....Aint no letters worth disowning and cutting off your child over. Thats really just sad. Like the other girl said, Im glad there are no Greeks in my family, cause I can follow whatever path I choose without disappointing anyone in my family....

WOW. That sounds like what my cousin is going through now. Her mom (my aunt) has been DST for over 35 years but she (my cousin) just crossed AKA at Clemson. Her mom found out and threatened to cut off all her funding for college; she gets no financial aid because my aunt is a lawyer and makes too much $. She had to go stay with my other aunt for the summer because her mom is still **** and won't let her come home. I was the first AKA lady in my fam so my aunt blames me for her chosing AKA over DST. I don't look at it that way. I say my cousin followed her heart. I would be heart-broken if my daughter ((should I ever have one)) pledged anything other than AKA or Zeta<---only cause my mom is one  but I definitely would NOT cut her off because she is still my child. That should come before ANYTHING. *smh*
