My mom has told me a few times in my life that she feels it's better for a female to have a male employer, as oppose to a female one, mostly b/c female employers tend to be harder on female employees, more judgmental, & some might be jealous or might keep the female employee from excelling.
So my question is...do you all agree? For the females, do you prefer a male employee over a female, or does it matter? For the fellas, same question - does gender matter in terms of employment? Do you feel that male employers are more bias towards you b/c of you also being a male?
Next...what about when it comes to your doctors? For females, gynecologists or just your doctor, period - do you care about the gender or no? & Males, when it comes to getting that physical examination or just a general check-up - any preference??
& Lastly...for everyone...generally-speaking, which gender do you feel is "harder" on their own gender - males or females...or do you feel it's even? Which tends to "hate" more??

Its funny you brought this up...cause my mom recently got a new job about a month ago...and she had to meet with the supervisor which was a man for her first interview. And he was laidback and kind. And he told my mom when she comes in for her second interview that HIS supervisor who is a woman, will be a lot harder on my mom during the interview process because thats just how she is. My mom said she was harder than he was...but she did like my mother and hired her...
So maybe women employers tend to be harder cause maybe they feel like as women in charge they dont get the respect they deserve if they were a man, so they may demand it among their employees and future employees. Im not sure if thats the case. Just a thought tho.
As far as me personally, I never had a female employer ironically. But I have liked all my male employers...They for the most part have been very laidback...
My first job was where my co-workers were only women, as well as my boss. She expected a lot from us, but I didn't see where she was any harder on my co-workers than she was on me, besides for obvious reasons (they were more experienced than me).
In addition, my mum is a female employer. I don't see where she is ever jealous of anyone, nor does she try to hold anyone back who should be moving up.
As far as doctors, I've never had a real extensive physical examination, so I couldn't care less. Not that it matters because the nurse practitioner at my doctor's office is fine as hell... 8)
