First of all, let me say that that was me who posted the most recent reply listed under "Guest". I was so anxious to respond that I forgot to give my screen alias, LOL! Endless Treasure, next fall I will reveal myself to you but not before then :-). In the meantime, continue to represent FISK with class and style. I've seen you on campus and we've even had a conversation or two, but my mystery on here allows me to be completely objective... NASDAQ_J, please try not to repond when you're upset. To call someone out of their name and make personal attacks reveals only immaturity and DOES NOT represent my father's alma mater (TSU) very well at all. FISKLady, your emotions seem to get the best of you when faced with triflin' comments. The world-renowned, Grammy-nominated FISK Jubilee Singers just received a 2004 Dove Award for Traditional Gospel Recording. The song that was selected was “Poor Man Lazarus” from their most recent recording “In Bright Mansions”. The Dove Award is the gospel music industry equivalent to the Grammy awards for musical excellence. Students become Jubilee Singers through an arduous audition process that demonstrates their individual vocal prowess and the depth of knowledge of the Jubilee Singers legacy. Another fine opportunity to learn more about that legacy is provided through the tome “Dark Midnight When I Rise” by Andrew J. Ward. “Dark Midnight” is an in-depth chronicle of how a motley band of FISK students not only turned around an institution but allowed the African experience in America to be widely showcased through song. A Jubilee Singers performance is surely something to behold and once again this fall, they will be touring the United States after summer performances in Europe and the Bahamas.
