Dillard is the ranked the #9 HBCU as of 2008 dispite **** katrina...it really is a good school that has a strong social sciences, pre-med, and engineering program, just like the other 8 top HBCU's but instead DU isnt stingy with the money lol ok heres the Dillard University financial aid info, im just gonna exclude some of the small info -to be considered for scholarships all info necessary for admittance to DU should be sent by Dec 1. -admittance cresidentials will determine scholarship eligibility (ex. since i mentioned i won 1st place in my schools science fair 6 times and my major will be engineering, i may receive a scholarship in research or since my hobby if photography i may receive a scholarship based on a photojournalism task) -institutional scholarships do not apply to summer enrollment. -given on academic merit & financial need okay now to the awards University Scholars Min. 3.8 gpa...min. 27 ACT or min. 1220 SAT combined score covers full tuition, room and board and is renewable up to eight semesters...must maintain the required gpa noted in scholarship notification letter Presidential Scholar min. 3.6 gpa...min. 25 ACT or min. 1130 SAT combined score covers full tuition and is renewable up to eight semesters...must maintain the required gpa noted in scholarship notification letter Dean's Scholar min. 3.0 gpa...min 21 ACT or min. 1110 SAT combined score covers half tution and is renewable up to eight semesters...must maintain the required gpa noted in scholarship notification letter Tuition and Fees There are numerous costs associated with a year of study at Dillard University. In the following examples we have divided these educationally related costs into two categories: "direct costs" and "indirect costs." Direct costs are charged or billed to you by Dillard University (these include tuition, fees, and on-campus room and board). Indirect costs are not billed by Dillard University. They are related to books, supplies, personal expenses, and travel expenses and are incurred independently from the university. Indirect costs vary from student to student. We include these costs in your student budget as estimates only. These estimates are based on the average spending patterns of our students from prior school years as well as state-wide averages provided by the Louisiana Office of State Financial Assistance. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES If you have special circumstances which you feel affect your ability to finance your educational costs you should send us a letter as soon as possible. Explain in detail your special circumstances and be sure to include supporting documentation. Submit this information directly to the Financial Aid Office on campus; do not send it with your FAFSA.
