I had to put it in because short hair is waaaaay more high maintenance than long hair. With the short hair, I would have to curl my hair every day, get a perm every 4-6 weeks, and so forth. With the hair sewn in, my real hair is braided up and protected, and it's a lot cheaper than trying to get my hair done up in Hampton. If Hampton had some really good hair stylists that I felt like I could trust, I woulda kept my natural hair. I probably won't find someone until maybe 2nd semester if I'm lucky. Hope that answers your question...

I had my hair cut short like yours, and i wrapped it at night before i went to bed and tied a silk scarf around my head, so when i woke up in the morning all i had to do was comb it down (no i wasn't one of the ones who went ot class with a scarf on their head!!!!!) and SOMETIMES i would have to bump it with the curling irons, but that was it. To me, it more low-maintenance to keep a short cut than have long hair. the only time i went to hairdresser was when i needed a retouch.
