Is it true AKAs can no longer have probates?

Hello I was just wondering if it was true that AKA's can no longer have probate shows. I went to visit a cousin at her school last week and their AKAs happened to be coming out that weekend. They had a very small coming out show and their outfits consisted of jeans and pink & green shirts with their letters on it. Someone told me it was because they could only have small coming out shows because the national office had banned probates because they felt it was a form of hazing. I was just wondering if this was true or not because I hadn't heard that until now. (Just a question, no disrespect intended to the organization or any of it's members.)

*yawn* Your juvenile replies are really tiresome. Perhaps you should refrain from using a message board until you a mature enough to do so.

Angie83, it's sad how immature some people be can be and pretty silly how people choose to be rude unnecessarily. There wasn't anything rude about my question so I doubt these women are AKAs because I think any member of the organization would've replied in a respectful manner or just ignored the question altogether. If they are AKAs I certainly don't believe they represent the majority.

Why are you in AKA business anyway? I sugges YOU refrain from using a message board until you know what discrestion is. And again, if the answer to your query is not a secret then why dont you know it by now?

Why are you all in my business? As I stated above I suggest you refrain from using a message board until you are mature enough to do so. Your replies and attitude are juvenile and classless. (And FYI, it's spelled discretion.) It was a basic question for people who wanted to answer, if you didn't want to answer you should have kept moving. As far as the answer, I DO know now. So a) you should stop assuming and b) so much for it being a secret!

AMini... you sound dumb... sorry to have to tell you. Anyhow, I'ma drop a lil' knowledge on you... you have to know what the word PROBATE means in the context of an organization to know whether or not said organization has PROBATES... which is why people are referring you to AKA'a national website. So, that should make the answers you have been given a little clearer.

Thanks ManifestDSTiny33! She/He sounds dumb, because...well...he/she might actually BE dumb. Why would one ask a question they claim to already know the answer to? Furthermore, if you know the answer why not just post it?

Hey I'm not trying to get in this debate or argument, but I am curious if this is true or not? I have a friend at a school that said the same thing about the AKA's. She said the AKA's at her school did not probate, but just wore their jackets after they crossed. Well, actually they had some fishy stuff to go down with the chapter during MIP. That could have been the reason that they didn't probate, but I"m not sure though. Anyway, I'm just curious. Amni brought up an interesting question, and I'm sure she didn't mean to start a riot! ha ha I guess probating just applies to various chapters/schools. Some chapters might probate and some might not, and it might just be a preference thing.

What are you talking about BMOREHAMPTON that type of information is NOT on the National Website. I have viewed the National website on several occasions and that type of information is not listed. That is not the most important topic on the agenda for the 2007 year, so they wouldn't put that on the website. Unless you are referring to a section on the website that is for "member's only" where you have to type in your user name and password? Well, seriously I don't care, I just happened to run across this thread, and I had a friend to say the same thing about the AKA's at her school. I am not truly concerned about if AKA's can probate or not, that is the last thing on my list of importance! (A matter of fact, it is not on my list at all!) It seems that this discussion is offending people, because there are many rude comments that are going back and forth! So I will leave this alone because this is for the birds!
