Profanity...What's The Purpose?

If you browse the forums, you see profanity being used in almost every thread. I'll push the envelope and say at in least 90% of them. What is the purpose of using profanity? Does it help you convey your point any better? Is it because you have a limited vocabulary? Is it because it makes you feel "bigger" than you really are(intimidation factor)? Can you hold a decent conversation without using profane words? Can you go a day without cursing? Better yet, can you eliminate profanity entirely from your speech for the rest of your life? Can anybody tell me? What's your take on profanity?

Mainly to put more emphasis on statements. They're usually used to display an emotion, almost always anger. Is it the best thing to resort too? No. But these days, I'll take a verbal lashing over a bullet.

You say it isn't the best thing to do, but is there a better way? What else is there?

Let me rephrase what I said in the message above. People need to give thanks to God for this revelation knowledge, to him be the Glory! Also, if you lack wisdom pray for God to give you wisdom. He does not withhold good gifts! It says in the word of God if a man lacks wisdom he should ask God for wisdom!

There is no purpose for profanity. Profanity is a sign of an ignorant mind that does not know how to express itself. People who believe that using profanity is okay need to wake up. Think for a minute if you had a son or daughter would you want someone calling your daughter a b**** or your son an a**hole, I don't think so. Before you try to defend why profanity is acceptable stop and think about the power of the words a person may be using. Of course you can say that profanity is only offensive to people who read too much into the context that it is being used in. However, there is no right or wrong way to use profanity. At the end of the day the words mean the same. Furthermore, so I challenge my sisters and brothers to express yourself as an educated individual and with the wisdom that God blessed you with.

Probably the folk who edit the dictionary to give words meanings. The same folk who also decided that '****' has an "a" and not an "e". Just jokes man, you can go ahead and curse me out over it if you want. lol

PRAISE THE LORD!!! Exactly when is it perfectly fine to express yourself using profanity? Now keep in mind this is just "ME" talking, but I can't see a conversation that I am having when there is no word but a curse word that can express what I'm saying or get across the point I'm trying to make. HERE'S A THOUGHT...why not use what the word means in that sentence and see if it still makes sense. (Just a suggestion!) If you leave the word out, will it really take away from what you're trying to say? (Just wondering?)
