I don't think most of them do...At least not in the light of actually wanting to make the crime rate go up...For the most part, they just tell what they know, and at times gas it up some about jewels and cars :? , but still somewhat based on what they know and thats that.... But my man said some dumb stuff about trying to raise the crime rate...It's he and others like him who give cops reason to have a whole "Hip-Hop Crime Unit" in NYC and ATL.... :evil: Freedom of expression, yes....But more or less, he's still callin fire in a crowed theatre :roll: .....

I think most artist now a days as the same mentality that this Yayo person has...Think about the rap lyrics(money, cars,females,crime).They tend to not show any creativity in their music.Im so tired of this '' ghetto mentality".

I agree with u that most of them don't have much to add to the art and the culture...They're just talking all that, for the most part, because it sells and thats what "the people" want to hear...But the difference between most rappers and those like and including Yayo, is that on the one hand the "most rappers" will probably spit all that stuff just because it sounds good...If Mr PotatoeHead was the hottest thing out, I won't doubt hearin about him pimpin something or someone....Now on the other hand, you have "those like and including Yayo" who purposefully state that they want stuff to get worse....It's the slight difference between promoting actions as opposed to promoting consequences....speaking passively without thought and speaking with full intention..... I don't agree with promoting and pushing either, but for this here....Yayo and those alike are the worse of the two evils....

Honestly no, I think the majority of the rappers talk about either experiences they have had, changing the world, being hard core, or flossing, what they have. Not talkin bout no dayum crime rates going up

It is a pretty dumb comment... the only thing i hate about it is that it can actually happen (i've seen it). When first read it it made me think instanstly about when ruff ryders first came out. A local game actual change their name to it and folk was living their life like it was right off the first album. Personally, I don't like G-Unit at all. I don't care how nice their punchlines are I don't like what the stand for. They don't do anything to better me or my people. Personally, I feel that music should be uplifting or represent a place where you are in life. Too many artist out there are creating these negative fantasy worlds and weak minds are being suckered into mistaking them for reality. I don't like the state of commercial music at all...

I don't think they would go as far as to say they want to make the crime rate go up....but basically they know this stuff sales....so as long as we continue to buy it...they're gonna continue to produce it.
