Did anybody watch the State of the Black Union 2008? How do yall feel about what was said? Was their any topics that yall felt were left out...that should have been discussed? What speaker appeal to u the most?

I didn't see it, but I've seen a few of these speeches to know the routine. 1. Upper class Black leaders appear and say a lot of hot air and use buzz words. 2. Audience applauds. 3. People pat themselves on the back and go on living their normal lives. A colleague of mine have had this decision and we agree that more than talk needs to be. On a side note, the Black State of the Union Address has probably not even affected Obama's campaign nor his image in the eye of Black voters. Obama 2008!

Sure you can say that. The kind of thing all politicians do. The only difference is, once these people are elected into office, they try to make change.

And alot of the people at the State of the Black Union have and will countinue to strive for change... Maybe what you see around you locally may not seem like it... But as a whole processes of African American advancement has had seen great gains...
