Is it worth it???

I have a friend... :wink: ...who really wants to go to this school. The only thing is they're not giving her much aid. She'd have to take out about $12,000 worth of loans. Would u do it to go to a certain school? Is that a lot or do most of u take out that much too?

I was in that situation and i picked going to the school instate for various reasons. The two main reasons were cost & the chance to play ball and i decided that i would rather play ball (and have atleast a partial scholarship) than to take out loans on somebody's word.

all i got was loans from all my schools...but how can she take out 12,000 in loans isnt there a limit to the amount of loans she can take out? i thnk for students it's like 2,000 n it increases every year

Look at it like this... You are investing about $40 - 80k (depending on your school) in your education. That investment will return hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of your lifetime. That return will be larger based upon the reputation and quality of your school, the network of graduates, and the experience you had. In most cases, the end justifies the means. Even if it involves picking up some debt along the way. It's always better to have a degree from a highly-competitive school that you're going to have a couple years paying off, then a fully-paid diploma from Bob's School of Business, Auto Repair, and Interior Design. It will pay for itself, provided you take advantage of all of your opportunities. Holla!

My....um I mean her parents are taking out loans too. And I plan on having a real good job. She want to be a neonatal nurse practitioner with a PhD in nursing and I'm minoring in spanish. I was going to also major in Psychology, but that's too much.

Where u hear that from? .. Do u know some people pay for their whole education on loans?

UNC... my boy i used to work with was runnin off loans his whole academic career

If you really wanna go to that school, and its in ur heart and soul that u wanna go,then dont let money problems stop u...but then again,dont go get urself knee deep in debt that u think u prolly wont be able to pay back.Pray and ask God for guidence..He'll guide u Kathy...Oh yeah, c'mon to 'Skegee tho! its worth every dime.
