For those who wanna get there, here's some info courtesy of Whats Poppin Central - Your Source For Black Events Well we never thought we would see the day, but it has come! We now have a black man in the highest office of our nation. Join us in DC for a party like no other! - Over 1 million people are expected to be in the city, would you like to be? Hotels for the INAUGURATION Most hotels are sold out but we still have a few for you but not for long. CALL US NOW! 562-313-1664 or 877-521-4686, after you review. We can now offer the following hotels and prices. Payment Plan:
• Hold it TODAY for only $39.99 per room then
• Pay (1) nights room and tax on 11/18 then
• Pay final nights on or before 12/17
• (Extensions granted, if needed, for last payment)
Here are your Hotel Options at promotion rates. Taxes are included: · Hampton Inn Dumfries, VA
• (Location is 20-30 mins from DC)
• $225.50 a night (6) rooms left @ this rate
• $236.50 per night (4) rooms left @ this rate
• All double beds.
· Homestead Studio Suites- Washington DC,Tysons corner Vienna, VA
• ( Location is:15-25 mins from Downtown)
• $312.48 per night (3) rooms left at this rate
• $322.12 per night (2) rooms left at this rate
Rooms at this hotel are all kings w/ pullouts. Other notes: Both locations are within a few miles of the Metro train line..so instead of driving in, they need to "park and ride" into DC. Tickets to the actual INAUGURATION Its the hottest ticket in town, we have heard that the tickets are being sold for over $2,000 - however we found some ticket companies who had them for under $875. We are told that these tickets are NOT the jumbo screen view, but more like birds eye view. Not the General Admission where you need trifocals to see but rather the section where the normal person will NOT be. If you email us we will pass on the ticket holders contact info and details of the ticket. PLEASE DO NOT CALL US ABOUT THESE TICKETS PLEASE EMAIL US FIRST, THEN WE WILL SEND YOU THE INFO TO DECIDE ON IF YOU WOULD LIKE THEM Here's what needs to be in the email
• Name
• Contact #
• Email Address
• Number of tickets requested
• THEN YOU NEED TO SEND THE EMAIL TO:
• final.payments@gmail.com
• NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE EMAIL ONLY
FYI Do to the section available, if you have any felonies on your record, you will not be able to use these tickets. Sorry but its the rules these tickets, we hear, are not the average tix. "Tickets will not be distributed to Congressional offices until the week before the inauguration and will require in-person pick-up. " Although they won't be given out until Jan, I don't think that fact is going to slow folk from heading to DC. I'm going, ticket or not. ...I might wanna request my time off from work though.
I totally agree. Ticket or not, I want to go and enjoy the unity. I am sure the entire city will be full of energy.

Mmmm...if it wasn't so historical, I'd be chillin' in the lounge at one of the dorms @ A&T watching the inaugural address...but I'm willin' to spend a bit of cash *like it's only going to be so much* to be there. I'm still kicking myself for not attending the last presidential debate, even though it would've only cost me 12 damn dollars to be there...the first presidential debate in New York State in 50 years, and like a dodo bird I decided not to go...

Let me get clarification: The ticket is for the Inaugural Address or for the Inaugural Parade?

I think the ticket is for the Inaugural Ceremony. To my understanding, a ticket is not required for the parade.

^^^Sounds good. Are you flying or driving to DC from the ATL? There are several buses going to the inaugural ceremony from Tennessee. Therefore, I am really looking forward to the trip. I actually just found out that a ticket is not required to attend the Inaugural Ceremony. However, if you have a ticket, it guarantees preferred seating. Therefore, you will probably be in the front.
