Happy sweetest day!

Just sitting here thinking has anyone herd of this holiday. Back in Michigan it falls around Oct 26th. Down here in Mississippi no one has even herd of it. But hallmark makes cards for it and everything. So is that just a Michigan thing or have you herd of it?

Sweetest Day falls on a different day and date every year .. But its always in October .. Last year it was the 18th .. A couple of years back it was the 16th .. Im unsure of this years date

^^^exactly...this holiday is just too confusing to mark on ya calendars... they sayin' October 26th...my cousins from Detroit and Flint talkin about it's the 19th of ere'month....folks sayin its on different days...differen't months... are we even talking about the same thing?? is it a coincidence that he made this post on TODAY the 19th of June??? so i dunno...so ya kno what...im celebrating it on the 19th of ere'month...how bout that...

here Sweetest Day has always been in October. But I don't celebrate that ****cuz thas jus sum fake **** holiday Hallmark came up w/ to get mo money. Smh@makin' up holidays.

I'm in SE Michigan.. and we started celebrating it e'ry October 20th, but then it switched to like the 3rd Saturday of October... but I dunno... usually the radio stations remind us.... lol.. I'm sorry if y'all neva heard of it... this is like a holiday for black folks.. or a tleast just to chill w/ your partner.. not necessarrily anything lavish, but I always did a small dinner.. like a picnic or something.. something SWEET.. Personally.. Sweetest Day BEST be e'ry day if I play my cards right.. :wink:

There is alot of people from the "Murder Mitten" (Michigan)...reppin... Anywho, why should I be happy for a damned Sweetest day? Can't ya'll see that "The Man" just making up holidays so that us African-Americans can splurge our money on someone we will not be with come Christmas...Wake up people...geez...Don't fall for it..."The Man" is always looking for ways to oppress us....

I didn't know anything about it till I got to college and some of my Michigan peeps told me about it. Ain't it like a male Valentines day or somethin like that.......we ain't celebrate that one in the Gump....
