lol..I was gonna ask the same thing...
But at the same time in regards to AKAs comment about Joyner being the only one to step up and give money to HBCUs in needs, I personally think it is just getting ridiculous. If I were rich, being that I will one day be an HBCU alum, I would definitely help any HBCU in need....but I kinda understand why more people are probally a lil ify about donating, cause its not that these schools are broke...its the irresponsibility of their administration in not doing a good enough job of recording and taking care of the books...and I doubt any celebrity who is gonna give millions of dollars wants to take that same risk with their money.
If they're donating that much money, rest assure that the board if directors of
any HBCU will let the person put whomever they want in the president/chancellor position.
I mean if you think about it, Spike Lee touched on this problem more than a decade ago (in School Daze.....). I am sure it wasn't this bad as it was then, but the bottom line is that Black people don't even care about Black colleges. Doesn't that sound kinda funny to you?? Without the support of the "community", I think a majorityof the smaller HBCUs will fold.
and I know I am late, but what ever happened with the Morris Brown situation??
Morris Brown is still open but has yet to recieve their accreditation back yet, but I hope they do. As soon as I get a job I'm going to give money to my school but in the mean time while I'm on campus I'm going to use my time to give back to my school. We need to do something to help our schools.
