how do greeks feel about non-greeks sitting on their bench

i was recently on campus and the incoming freshmens where disrespecting the greek benchs (sitting on top of them, laying on them, feet on them) a couple of akas went to the freshmen and told them if your going to sit on the bench sit like u have good sense. the freshmens rolled their eyes and said a smart comment and the akas they didnt respond back they just walked away. so the main question is how do yall feel about people like that sitting on your bench and would you have said something? what would u have done?

FRESHMEN: *scratching heads* AAAs: Can you please sit with good manners on our benches that we've shed blood sweat & tears for. FRESHMEN: Umm, can't you sit somewhere else? we're kind of busy here. *eating bojangles and smoking a black* AAAs: Well okay, but what time do you think you'll be finished, so we'll know when to come back? FRESHMEN: Why don't you write a letter to the Dean of Students and request a time to sit on your benches. You girls look like yawl do alot of writing anyways. AAAs: *walks away kicking dirt*

On our campus... benches and things are on the plot. NOW.... of course there is "plot etiquette" that non-greeks need to understand. That is our area and it is to be respected. Side walks are fair game cuz we don't want yall in the street bout to get run over... but when u hit grass and beyond into Blue and White territory u messin up. U are only allowed on IF invited by one of my sorors or frats. Then once once the plot you are ok to sit, stand, or lean if u want. BUT... u will not disrepect the shields. There will be no walking aross the shield simply because you have not been blessed with these letters. All in all we are nice about people and our plot, when we have folks that CLEARLY know nothing about the greeks we kindly ask them to be mindful of where they step and any RUDE folks are handled.
Same on my campus. We have plots and have never had a problem with peeps disrespecting, at least not since I've been there. I remember at the Groove's coming out cookout the Sigmas politely told these dudes they couldn't chill on their bench in their plot. They were probably freshman or just didn't know any better.

Morehouse don't have any greek benches anymore... I remember early in the year...the kappa's had one...but Morehouse took it away because it was Morehouse property and the Kappa's had painted over it.... As for any other greek org having a space...they just everywhere on campus...

My brother pledged Kappa at Morehouse, and we were there in May 2003 for his graduation. We took pictures of him and his frats and recorded them singing their song while they were on their bench by the tree across from that dorm. I didn't know that the school had taken the plot. I don't think that's right. Greek life is an integral part of Black college life. There is nothing wrong with Greeks having their special spots around the yard.

We politely tell non-members not to sit on our block. So far we haven't been disrespected. 8)

at CAU's they taught us quickly that it wouldn't be smart to sit, stand, breath, or go near those benches. I never thought about it anyway. They look to nice for sittin on Somehow i kinda thought common sense would kick in and you'd find sumwhere else to sit.
