Girl I feel ya, I'm in the same boat. I may not be there either b/c my parents say they can't afford it. I'm workin on loans though! I plan on goin into the air force when school is over and done wit just to have them pay off some if not all of my loans...Like my aunt always tells me, "PRAY ABOUT IT!" PM me if you need a someone to rant and rave to.

Don't trip yall. The same thing happened to me. My mother, my family, everybody thought HU was out of the question. I had no scholarship, no aid, no family on the eastcoast, and very lil $$$. But once i pray about it, claim it, and God says yes...it's a wrap! I got thru my 1st year, and i'm going back in pretty much the same predicament...NO MONEY lol. But i'm not trippin, cuz i know a provider that said he'll never leave me nor forsake me. And he'll do the same for both of u. He's just good like that LOL

^^thank you for that. that's why I'm not really worrying too much about it anymore, I know I'll get to HU. Maybe not this year, but next year.

It's a week until it's time to go and I still don't have a place to stay! My parents are takin me to DC tomorrow to try to find and apartment or talk to someone in housin...last time I called they said they had a 800-900 ppl waitin list...Now I don't know exactly how fast that goes, but by what I have gone through wit HU already I'm guessin not too fast! If I don't get an apartment then I'll just have to see about attending in Spring!

That was another one of my problems with HU, no place to stay. I hope you have better luck than I did

So my parents and I drove up to Howard today, and THANK GOD it turned out to be a pretty successful day. First place we went was to RES. LIFE. I spoke with Mr. Harris(just in case you wanted to know for your own personal use) and he placed me in a dorm within MINUTES! Seriously...It's not the dorm that I would have probably chosen for myself, but HEY, "BEGGARS CAN'T BE CHOOSERS" RIGHT? I've been placed in Meridian which is about 9 blocks from campus...I'm going to try to get switched, but at least now I have a foot in the door compared to before when I was S.O.L. ya know! We also went to the fin. aid office and I learned about a Donor Scholarship. Not really sure about all the info concerning it, but I met a girl who is a Senior there and she told me to make sure I filled it out and turned it in that day. Also a woman who works in the department said is on a first come first serve, need basis. So I filled it out, couldn't hurt right? I really hope that you are coming this semester, b/c I know how it feels to be in the situation. I cried and I prayed and GOD did bring me through it. I feel more at ease now. Good luck with everything, and I'm still here to rant and rave to if necessary? Oh one more thing, have you made a decision to attend or not?
