Even schools all across the country I have never heard of are included in these pilings. So, I don't know what to tell you. Growing up attending pwi's I always wanted the HBCU "experience" since I don't know what it's like to be around African-Americans. Now, I highly doubt it :roll:

Even though I understand that you all are interested in the top HBCU's...please keep in mind that you all are not the only people interested in these schools. At Morehouse, the admissions clerk gets an average of 350 -500 Application request a day. There is only a few personal in the admissions office, which include the two application processors, the secretary, the dean's secretary, Associate Dean, 4-10 student part-time recruiters for tours, and the Recruiters. Keep in mind the Deans and Recruiters have to travel all the time for Morehouse...With that being said, it takes a lot of time to send and mail applications out by mail. Another thing that holds people back is the fact that applications are paper and need to be ordered from the company. Without an application, accurate admissions material, and mailing tools, applications can not be sent out. You would not like a half-**** application package would you? Money also is a problem, most of these schools are private, therefore they cannot afford large staff or top machines like Harvard, Yale, or a state school possess. They honestly try there best to serve the mass number of potiential students for their school. My best advice is to be patient and start early. Downloading the application can also help. Trust me, the admission personal at top HBCU's have it hard...... Howard, Morehouse, Spelman, Hampton, FAMU, Xavier, all deal with numerous amounts of students trying to entert he gates of their haven. It is a hard yet rewarding process....but my advice is to be patient. Another good thing to do is to write the dean, not to beg to get in your perspective school, but to get an insight on admissions and their day-to-day operations, and how much stress he or she is under.
