i'm workin' on this paper about dialect due later on tonight for my speech phonetics 4 non-majors class....& i ran up on this site...

lol see if ya city's up there....& if u can relate to any of the words or phrases they have up there (& if u don't c ya city, u can maybe look up the next big city near tha one u live or go 2 school in)....
i only picked up on a few of tha phrases for Los Angeles...none of which I've eva used....guess I've been in Raleigh long enough 'cuz i caught onto a lot of those....again, tho, none of which i use...LOL @ "Yenny Kinta" lol - that iz kun-tree fo REAL
& "Beltline"...yea that one's always gotten me too since i came out here...in Cali, it was just "Freeway"...in Raleigh, it's "the Beltline" :roll:

yea i figured a lot of the L.A. & Raleigh phrases had to have come from Whites...
but some of that stuff up there i've at least heard be4...

Back coming up in the Ville we used to say "I'm mad at that. . . ", which meant more like, "That's surprising". . .Folks up here would think I really was mad
