Be Active On Campus Join some organizations around your campus. Don't JUST be a member be a worker. Become an part of that organzation. In the end it's far better for GLO's to know you for your hard work around campus and your interest, rather than just your interest alone. You'll generally have the opportunity to work alongside with greeks from all organizations. They'll see you for whomever you are. This way you have more to talk about than just what it takes to join your Organization of Choice.

a agree with you. The internet and books can get you a long way but it can only offer but so much. you can't just strike up a conversation with a greek because like you guys were saying, thats going to come off likes it's been staged. And there's so much you can't ask and you have to be so "discreet" about everything so as not to offend. you really have no idea what you can and cannot ask

As an aspirant, I have went to members of XYZ sorority and spoke with them, not because I want to kiss up, and try and be the best of friends but because I saw it as an opportunity that I may not have again. On my campus the chapter or XYZ just got off suspension so there aren't any member on campus other than a few faculty members. So when I do come across a member whether its at a social or just on campus I have on a few occasions approached them in a dignified manner and spoke with them on various topics including the organization as well as other general topics. Some may see it as being "fake" but I see it as being serious about my pursuit. No matter how many organizations I work hard for, or how many community service hours I do, I will not have that chance equal to come across a member of XYZ sorority as others may have. If and when the time comes for me to offically express my interest I do not want to be just another female in a room of 50+, I want the members to know that I have been serious not for a few weeks or days, but for semesters, and years.
