How do you feel about junior greeks and what are the ones you know or were a part of? Do they give you any credibility when you pledge in college?

i'm not sure about the other ones but i know the sigma betas aren't considered junior greeks or nothing, just a auxillary org that we have in sigma. it's real beneficial to those kids and they can join at like the age of 11 and stay till they graduate. a lot of them don't have any male influence and we (phi beta sigma) reach out to them and serve as a big brother. i know my dad was in something called pre-omegas in high school where they pledged, threw parties, and did the whole nine yards. i wouldn't wear any of those greek letters to college. but i've seen ppl do it. being in the auxillary org and being humble is pretty attractive to me.

Any of you all heard of the Junior Greeks of Kudos and Xinos?
Nah, you're gonna have to explain that
Kudos and Xinos are two organizations for high school students. Kudos is the Fraternity and Xinos is the Sorority. It's sponsored by a teachers Sorority called "Phi Delta Kappa". We are nation wide and do many things that Greek frats do on a smaller-highschool level.

Back where I'm from they have the Deltines (DST) and the Ivylettes(AKA). Sorors are the ones that actually run the program. its for girls from the sixth through the twelvth grade. I had a lot of friends that did Ivylettes and they didnt come out expecting to automatically be in the AKA's. they are just taught different things about the sorority and they do community service. then in the spring they have a cottillion (Ivylettes had the Fashionetta) but it's just an activity that they put on on to give give young ladies something to do with their time.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with mentoring organizations, I just think that we should not be encouraging high school students to "pledge", accept or assign them line numbers or give them nicknames (linenames). We also shouldn't teach them to party-hop/walk/stroll/train; but I see plenty of them already know how. I wish people would leave something for college.

I can agree with that to some extent. Actually I "pledged and organziation in middle school. It is called Omega Delta. Begun by a man of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc and u guessed it! a lady of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. We had line names, numbers, tasks to complete while we were "on line", and at the end we had a death march and final ceremony. The thing about it is, we all had to keep grades, have a mentor, serve as a mentor, and do service within the school and community. It was a good learning experience and we had fun. Now that I have Zeta in my heart, I see how knowing some of what was to come takes the "fun" outta joining. But ain middle school we never hoppped, partied, had signs or calls. It was fun, but coming to Zeta land was soooo much more.
