^Sweety, you can't make nobody love someone they ain't attracted to. If a lot of you guys grow so confidence and stop trying to analyze every damn thing you might find a girl.

Ok, I am a young black women and I have a good job and I am in school my thing is I have certain standards that I abide by and I definately want to be with a black man that is descent and ambitious just because I am. Black women in general can say that there aren't to many good black men out there because of what they have experienced from them. If we did not experience certain things than we could not have a reaction to it or a response. My thing is I see decent guys all the time but alot of the times it appears that they are intiminated by me because I am serious about what I do. I would not generalize and say that there are not any good men out here, but the reason we sistas say that is because it is like the good men are hiding. I also do believe that you can take a attractive, smart female who is about business and that is not wild and have an oposing female and which one will you really go after. I know for a fact the other female will get looked at first rather than a the quiet nice female becaue that is how it is. I have experienced it and that is why I can say it. Some black men will say I want a Good women but when one walks up you would rather not pay them no mind maybe because some figure they are to hard to go after because our standards are high. But if you think about it. It is nothing wrong with wanting certain things for yourself.

All people who want to be in a good, serious, relationship need to read "His Needs, Her needs" by Willard F Harley Jr. Youll learn whats more important to a man and a woman, and what both cant live without. Ive found it to be helpful.

Look man, before I post I'd like to say that I completely understand where you from and why I may not agree with what you have to say you definitely articulated your argument very well...but... I think you are looking at it from a completely wrong perspective, as if all men are the same. What I mean by that is, if a woman is saying there are no good men left, then it should be obvious that she means good in her opinion. For example, while "Darnell" may be a nice young man, etc, not a bad boy, etc, you can't expect a girl who completely loves and adores those "fly-****" Kappa's or those "nasty Q's" to feel him in that kind of way no matter how nic he is and no matter how much she helps him out. You have to understand that when a woman says there are no good men left you need to be able to read between the line and figure out what she really means, which is that she's been unable to find a man that she clicks with thus far. Women are going to feel the type of **** they feel regardless of how nice, bad, etc, the other one may be. It's just all a matter of personal taste..Well hey, that's just my two cents. That is all...

To sum up what you said: Imagine the female is on fire, burning outta control. Somebody rushes up to her with a bucket of water, but because the water isn't Avion, she chooses to continue to burn and scream for help. *nods head* Aaaaahhhh, now I know! And knowing is Half the Battle © SnakeEyes

^And if she don't wanna be saved, rescue the next. Why save somebody that don't wanna be saved. Why be with someone that don't wanna be with you? I think you got self-esteem issues myself. But I could be wrong.

Just like any black woman or any woman anywhere, I have had bad experiences with men.
Quote:
"He's like a brother to me." "I don't see him like that" "I just don't like him that way" "I don't wanna ruin our friendship"
LoL...a few of those lines have leaked out on an occassion or two. Yet and still, as a black woman, I would never say that there is a shortage of good black men... You can't have a couple bad experiences and then blame it on the entire population of black men. You gotta experience a lil agony to truly appreciate ecstasy.

Since this topic is resurrected once again, I'll put in my $0.02. What you receive out of anything will be equal to what you expect from it. If you have the expectation of not finding someone worth your time, you will make it so, because your eyes are closed to the opportunities that might exist. If you assume your partner will be dishonest, the honest ones will see your distrust and avoid you like the plague. To change your results, you must change your expectations. And stop worrying about what everyone else is doing. As much as we try to analyze, others will always do things that don't make any sense. You can't apply rational thought to irrational people, so stop trying. Once you do these things, it will dawn on you how many people you've been overlooking. Holla!
