That actually happend to me with my school conseler...I was like I want to go to Clark Atlanta U and she was like is that a black school and I said it's a Historiclly black college and the heffa said "same difference"!!! I was like no the **** didn't......then she says well with your talents and grades you can easily get a full ride to Pepperdine and I was like I don't WANT to go there...then she goes on to babble about how she wants me to get a good education, as if an HBCU was a joke. I got SOOOO heated..... I feel you....I'm sorry you had to go through that....

Oberlin is not considered Ivy League and perhaps she is genuinely concerned about your financial obligations. I truly wish my lil brother had thought his choice through, because 39,000 is a strain on the family, AND he'll have mad loans when he finishes his undergrad degree. I wish you the best, and am glad you're choosing to go to FAMU first, though. . . but seriously the comment might not be racist, it might be classist.
